Someday when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
Oh but you're lovely with your smile so warm
And your cheek so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you
Just the way you look tonight

| My favorite records as
a child were albums of Broadway shows. "Oklahoma" in particular I
played often--my parents had an abundance of Rodgers & Hammerstein
recordings in their collection. I still love Richard Rodgers' music;
some of his melodies are as beautiful as anything by Puccini. Having
Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth on the cover is another way of paying
tribute to this era. To me, Astaire's dancing and singing epitomizes
all the best qualities of the Broadway and movie musicals: elegance,
charm, sophistication, romance, and more than just a touch of class.
I hope you enjoy these arrangements of some of the greatest popular
tunes of the first half of the 20th century.
